FAPCCI flays service tax changes

HYDERABAD: The Federation of AP Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) has opposed the recent amendment to service tax, shifting the liability of collecting the tax from transporters to merchants, traders and manufacturers.

The essence of this amendment that came into force from January 1 is disturbing to the trading community, said Mr O.P. Goenka, President of the Chambers, in a release.
