HYDERABAD: The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, reverted to his original profession on Friday when he launched the telemedicine connectivity between the Cuddapah District Government Hospital and Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad.
The doctor-turned-politician was at Cuddapah to launch the connectivity. Examining a child at his end, who was operated upon to correct a heart problem recently, he asked Apollo's senior surgeon Dr K.S. Murthy in Hyderabad why the boy developed a bulge on the stomach.
Dr Murthy said it was because of malnutrition and nothing to do with the surgery. "He will be normal as he develops muscle in the days after the surgery," he replied.
Dr Reddy asked the girl patient Venkata Subbamma, who had an intervention to plug a hole in her heart. "Were you gasping for breathe," he asked the girl.
The girl said she was having breathing problems before the intervention. "Now I'm able to run without having to struggle to breathe," she replied.
