Ruchi Soya net at Rs 18.53 cr

Our Bureau

MUMBAI: Ruchi Soya Industries Ltd (RSIL) posted a net profit of Rs 18.53 crore for the third quarter, up from Rs 16.80 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.

Sales grew by 6.3 per cent from Rs 839.2 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year to Rs 892.31 crore this quarter. Due to the high production in South America, the industry witnessed a declining price trend of products during the quarter, leading to pressure on margins. "However, the net margins of the company have gone up due to operational efficiencies, significant growth in the retail volumes of our branded products, integration of our operations, economies of scale, and cost control measures," Ruchi said in a release quoting Mr Dinesh Shahra, Managing Director.
