Chennai to host gold jewellery trade fair in May

THE Gold Jewellery India International Exhibition (GJIIE 2005), the first-ever business-to-business gold jewellery trade fair, is to be held in Chennai from May 20 to 22.The three-day exhibition is being organised by the World Gold Council (WGC) and the Madras Jewellers and Diamond Merchants' Association.

Over 150 Indian and international participants are expected to participate in the show.

GJIIE 2005 would offer an excellent platform to meet, interact and transact business with jewellery manufacturers, jewellery machinery and packaging manufacturers, importers, exporters, wholesalers and retailers under one roof, Mr Sanjeev Agarwal, Managing Director (Indian subcontinent) WGC said, in a press conference.

The show will open a world of opportunities for manufacturers, wholesalers to do business in the largest market for gold jewellery in the country, he said. Over 10,000 business visitors are expected to visit the show.
