Retailing Egana opens Watches and More store in Chennai Our Bureau

Chennai , Jan. 31 EGANA India Pvt Ltd plans to open its flagship lifestyle stores, branded as Watches and More, across 25 centres in the country in the next 12-15 months. The company, a joint venture between the US-based Egana Goldpfeil Ltd and Rose Group, the Mumbai-based jewellery manufacturer, today opened its store in Chennai, the third in India after Bangalore and Raichur, according to Mr Biren Vaidya, Managing Director, Egana India. `Watches and More' offers watches, jewellery and eyewear of brands such as Esprit, Pierre Cardin and Carreira. Egana soon plans to launch Cerruti 1881 brand in India. The store would offer a wide range of men's jewellery and designer gold, silver and other gems from brands such as Esprit Jewels, Gili, Adora and DTC brands such as Asmi and Sangini, he told newspersons. Products cost between Rs 2,000 and Rs 30,000, he said. According to Mr Vaidya, the retail industry in India is evolving, and the country is emerging as a dynamic market for lifestyle retailing even as around 200 shopping malls are coming up across the country. In Chennai, Egana has appointed The Helvetica as its franchisee to run Watches and More, and cine actress Khushboo and model Simran Chandok opened the shop.
