Mumbai , Jan. 31

ROYAL Sutlez, the recently acquired coastal vessel by SKS Ship Ltd, the country's largest coastal operator, was flagged off on its maiden voyage from Jawaharlal Nehru port by Mr Ravi Budhiraja, port Chairman.

The 3,600 DWT vessel was carrying 160 containers of general cargo, including textiles, machinery and chemicals.

Mr S.K. Shahi, Chairman of the SKS Ship, said two new vessels of similar capacity were expected to join the company's 32-strong fleet in the next two months.

The company, which notched up an income of Rs 9.74 crore in the third quarter of the current fiscal, against Rs 8.45 crore in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal, is implementing a Rs 200-crore expansion programme.

It is also considering a foray into ship repair through a tie-up with an overseas player.
