Cavium Networks plans Hyderabad centre

CAVIUM Networks, a fabless semiconductor company, has announced plans to locate its India Development Centre in Hyderabad on an investment of about $10 million (Rs 43.7 crore) over 3-5 years.

Addressing a press conference here today, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cavium Networks, Mr Syed Ali, said, "This development centre will greatly expand the software development capabilities of Cavium Networks for its Nitrox range of security processors as well as the recently announced Octeon Network Services processor along with built-in hardware acceleration for content and security processing".

Cavium Networks is working towards supplying processors used in next generation of secure and intelligent networking equipment.

The India centre would undertake software development activities that include development of micro-code, drivers and application stacks for Nitrox and Octeon security and content processors. The mandate of Hyderabad centre would be to customise software based on customer needs.
