Telecommunications Reliance Infocomm network expanded to 150 towns in Karnataka Our Bureau
Bangalore , Feb. 3 RELIANCE India Mobile has said that its services are now available in 150 towns of Karnataka following the completion of the second phase of expansion. Most of the second phase of expansion was in North Karnataka, a press statement from Reliance Infocomm said on Thursday. Reliance Infocomm expects to cover four lakh villages across the country by the year-end. The company's 80,000 km of terabit optic cable network forms the backbone of its countrywide expansion and will facilitate unlimited and uninterrupted voice, data and video applications, the statement said. This expansion will cover nearly two-thirds of the total number of villages in the country. Reliance Infocomm launched its commercial services in May 2003 and currently has 6.62 lakh subscribers in Karnataka and has over one crore subscribers across the country, the statement said.
