Chennai , Feb. 4

SHEETAL Creations Pvt Ltd, the wholly owned subsidiary of Sheetal Manufacturing Company, plans to invest about Rs 87 crore by the end of 2006, to expand its retail presence in India. KIAH is the private diamond jewellery label of the Sheetal Group.

Mr Gautam Gulati, Manager, Business Analysis, Sheetal Group, said at present there are 5 KIAH showrooms and 90 shop-in-shops in India, which may go up to 15 more stores and 150 shop-in-shops by the year-end.

KIAH, an Australian aborigine term which means `from a beautiful place', was launched first in Mumbai in October 2004. It is now available in Ahmedabad and Surat.

The store in Chennai was inaugurated on Wednesday. Mr Gulati said that the company's research had revealed that the Chennai market has shown a lot of store loyalty and a tendency for more traditional designs.

The KIAH designs are at least 30 per cent lighter than the other jewellery available in the market, he said.
