THE biennial subcontracting show styled `Subcon 2005' is expected provide the opportunity to the small scale units to explore the possibilities of becoming preferred vendors of large and medium enterprises.

The event to be held from February 17 to 20 here is jointly hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia) and the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC).

The organisers hope that the participants in the exhibition will gain valuable insight into the market trend and learn about the emerging opportunities.

SSI units also can come together to pool in their capacity that will help them in taking up large orders.

It will be a win-win situation for both the SSI units and the large and medium enterprises as it would provide assured capacity utilisation to the SSIs and the large and medium companies would be assured of quality of supply, the organisers said.
