Announcements Natco Pharma gets European approvals Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Feb. 5 NATCO Pharma Ltd has received certification of suitability (CoS) from the European Pharmacopoeia for two of its active pharmaceutical ingredients - Ondansetron hydrochloride dihydrate and Sumatriptan succinate. In a press release here, the company said the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines (EDQM) granted these certifications after a thorough evaluation of the drug master files filed by the company. According to the company, Ondansetron hydrochloride dihydrate is an established drug providing beneficial effects among cancer patients under medication, while Sumatriptan succinate is a proven medicine for migraine and related ailments. With the European approvals, the customers in European countries can now procure these products from the company and convert them into finished dosage formulations for sales in the European Union, the company said. The launch of these formulations is slated for early 2005-06.
