STERLITE Optical Technologies has won a Rs 2.5-crore contract for supply of fibre optic cables to Sudan.

The contract is part of an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning work consisting of a multi-product pipeline project being executed by Dodsal Pte Ltd for ONGC Videsh Ltd, said a news release from Sterlite Optical.

This contract marks an important milestone in Sterlite Optical's strategy to take advantage of global opportunities and enter new markets, said the statement. Sterlite Optical has already made gains in international markets such as China and West Asia and is attempting to gain a foothold in the other emerging markets, it said.
