Foods & Food Processing Chandy lays foundation stone for food park Our Bureau
Thiruvananthapuram , Feb. 7 THE State Government is committed to providing all the infrastructural facilities required by industrial units in the State, said the Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy. According to an official release, he made this observation while laying the foundation stone for the Kinfra Food Processing Park at Adoor in Pathanamthitta district on Sunday. The Chief Minister said that the food park, which is being set up by the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Kinfra), would be notified as a `special economic zone'. The investment in the first phase of the Adoor food park will be Rs 25 crore, including anticipated Central assistance of Rs 10 crore, he added. According to Kinfra officials, amenities at the food park, which is the second such facility in the State, will include uninterrupted power supply, a modern sewage treatment plant, drinking water supply and a quality control laboratory. A small industries park will be set up alongside the food park, they added. The Kerala Industries Minister Mr V.K. Ebrahim Kunju, the Water Resources Minister, Mr Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, the Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Mr Adoor Prakash, and other officials also participated in the function.
