Natpac training programme

KOCHI: The National Transportation Planning and Training Centre (Natpac) is organising a two-day training programme in the State from February 7 to educate the heavy vehicle drivers in the unorganised sector.

The programme would be held for the drivers who are yet to undergo any formal training programme on defensive driving, for two days each at Thalassery, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Ernakulam, Thodupuzha, Palai, Thiruvalla, Alappuzha and Attingal, according Natpac sources.

The programme is sponsored by the Union Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways for the benefit of drivers in Kerala. A total of 500 drivers would be trained in this programme.

Each participant would be given a participation fee of Rs 150 and personal accident insurance coverage of Rs 1 lakh for one year. Besides, free eye test and blood group checking would also be conducted.
