Information Technology Internal auditors urged to use IT services Our Bureau
Kolkata , Feb. 7 THE Institute of Internal Auditors has stressed on the need to use information technology to increase efficiency of the corporate sector. The use of IT can add more value to businesses and create an atmosphere that brings about more efficient delivery of products and services. Internal auditors can play a special role in a business scenario marked by the increasing use of technology, the institute has pointed out. The technological revolution has had a major impact on the country's economic environment with more companies leveraging tools such as ERP packages to manage their end-to-end business processes. The local chapter of Institute of Internal Auditors - India, which held its regional conference here recently, urged members to focus on internal audit. "IT enabled services and business process outsourcing companies are rapidly becoming the order of the day," the institute said, adding that information security has already emerged as a significant concept in risk management. Technology is being recognised as a tool for providing competitive advantage to companies to streamline and improve business processes. It may be mentioned here that IT services has had a major impact in States such as West Bengal.
