Sugar Markets - Stock Markets Stock market reflects sugar industry optimism BL Research Bureau
Chennai , Feb. 7 IF the industry is optimistic about prospects for the sugar industry, players in the stock market are no less so. They have been bidding up prices of sugar stocks both at the BSE and the NSE. Prices of sugar stocks have generally moved up between 10 and 30 per cent in the last one month, while in a few other cases the rise has been as much as close to 60 per cent. Bajaj Hindusthan has seen its share price move up from Rs 142 to close to Rs 174 in the last one month, a rise of 22 per cent. On the other hand, Dhampur Sugar Mills, another leading player, has seen its share price move up from Rs 103 to Rs 161 in the same period, a rise of 56 per cent.
