Kebab festival in Coimbatore

N. Nagaraj

Coimbatore , Feb. 8

THE Residency, Coimbatore, is hosting a kebab festival from February 10 to 20 at its Afghan Grill poolside restaurant.

The Kebab Festival offers an extended a la carte menu along with the regular dinner menu at the restaurant.

Twenty types of kebabs will be served during the festival — 12 non-vegetarian and eight vegetarian dishes. The non-vegetarian varieties consist of six chicken dishes, four mutton dishes, one fish dish and one prawn variety.

Vegetarian kebabs include paneer til tinka (cottage cheese patty coated with sesame seeds), phalkidar khukdi (grilled mushrooms with Indian spices) and anaras bhari gobi ka tikka (minced cauliflower and pineapple with spices).

Non-vegetarian kebabs include chakori jhinga (prawns with pomegranate and fenugreek), changna lazzedar (spring chicken with exotic herbs), champ sang-e-lazeez (mutton chops flavoured with saffron cooked on stone) and nazakat-e-buz (lamb chargrilled with spices, almond and nutmeg).

Special Indian breads such as Lucknawi Taftan and chutney such as garlic-green chilli, mint and yoghurt-peanut will also be served.
