IOB-Roshni scheme

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The suburban Vilavoorkal branch of the Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) gave away LPG connections to 1,200 women beneficiaries of the self-help groups promoted by Kudumbashree Poverty Eradication Programme of the State Government.

The District Collector, Ms Tinku Biswal, inaugurated the proceedings in which Mr Joginder Paul, Chief Regional Manager, IOB, Thiruvananthapuram Region, distributed the gas connections.

IOB has distributed over 3,500 LPG connections to women beneficiaries from self-help groups, most of whom fall under the `below poverty line' (BPL) category, a bank spokesman said.
