IBM server for Linux

BANGALORE: IBM has unveiled eServer OpenPower 720 - a Power 5 microprocessor-based server, specifically tuned for Linux.

This new e-Server offers small to medium-sized businesses a highly affordable alternative to higher priced entry-level UNIX/Linux system, said a IBM press release. In other words, Open Power offers a 64-bit platform that supports scale-out growth at a 32-bit computing price, the release said.
