THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Rs 129-crore, Asian Development Bank-aided project for the comprehensive development of Thiruvananthapuram city is under negotiation, it was announced in the State Assembly on Thursday.

Taking the floor on behalf of the Local Affairs Minister who is indisposed, Mr E.T. Mohammed Basheer, the Education Minister, said the project would cover development of road infrastructure, transportation facilities and sewerage and water supply systems and creation of institutional infrastructure for the all-round development of the Capital City. The Government proposes to constitute a Local Development Fund to oversee implementation of the project, the Minister added.
