FCG Soft sets up centre for Witness

FCG Software Services India has set up a dedicated development centre for the Nasdaq-listed Witness Systems in Bangalore to carry out product development and test operations.

Witness Systems, a provider of performance optimisation software for the contact centre industry, plans to move product development and testing operations for two of its product lines to Bangalore, said the company's Vice-President for development, Mr Ed Murray.

FCG has set up the development centre for Witness on a build, operate and transfer basis and will be operating the centre for the next three years, said Mr Avinash C. Agrawal, Managing Director, FCG India.

FCG has already hired some 100 professionals for the Witness centre and plans to add another 20 more.

About 50 professionals would be deployed on product development and the remaining on testing, said Mr Murray. The centre would be develop and support Witness' products focussed on quality monitoring and recording, Mr Murray said.

"India has also emerged as a key market for Witness' products," Mr Murray said, adding the clientele included Wipro Spectramind, Hinduja TMT among others.
