THE Visakhapatnam-based Institute for Solid Waste Research and Ecological Balance (INSWAREB) is organising the second international symposium on "Concrete Technology for Sustainable Development" from February 28.

About 350 delegates from India and abroad are expected to take part in the four-day symposium, which will comprise 15 technical sessions, INSWAREB Director Mr N. Kalidas told newspersons on Friday.

He added that 15 experts on the subject from the UK, the US, Italy, and China would be presenting papers at the symposium aimed at spreading awareness about how the use of fly ash-blended cement would go a long way in promoting sustainable development.

Mr C.T. Chari, Director-General of the National Academy of Construction and Chairman of the Local Co-ordination Committee of the symposium, said that use of fly ash-blended cement was not only economical but more durable and environment-friendly.
