Visakhapatnam , Feb. 11

MR P. Suryanarayana Raju assumed charge as the Chairman of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) on Friday.

Mr Raju said he would strive for the integrated development of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Anakapalle.

He said, "My priority is not Visakhapatnam alone." He added that he would check unauthorised layouts and make Visakhapatnam an attractive destination for all.

The VUDA Vice-Chairman, Mr Varaprasad, congratulated the new Chairman and assured him the cooperation of all VUDA officials in his endeavours.

Mr Raju later addressed a public meeting in the VUDA quadrangle.

The APCC president, Mr K. Keshava Rao, the Minister for Commercial Taxes, Mr Konathala Ramakrishna, the Minister for Major Industries, Mr Botsa Satyanarayana, and several local legislators congratulated him on the occasion.
