New Products & Services Autoprint forays into four-colour printing machine segment L.N. Revathy
Coimbatore , Feb. 11 OFFSET printing machinery manufacturer Autoprint has forayed into the `four-colour' printing machine segment with the launch of `Quadra 450', which is a `four offset colour printing' machine and Gamut 300, the first `narrow web four colour intermittent label printing machine'. The two products from the Autoprint stable were rolled out at the Print Pack India 2005 expo. While Quadra is priced at least 40 per cent lower than similar models available in the market, Gamut is targeted for the high-end user. The company has earmarked an investment of Rs 5 crore for the current models. It aims to sell 50 machines annually in the next 3 to 5 years. The Autoprint Director (Commercial), Mr C.N. Ashok, said the new launches were based on customer feedback. "The challenge was in designing versatile, technologically innovative, feature-packed precision printing machines. We are aiming to replicate the success achieved in the small offset printers, considering the fact that we had managed to emerge as leaders in this space within a span of 7 to 8 years." Autoprint set the consolidation process to emerge as a total solutions company for the printing industry by launching three additional products the Setmaster collating machine, Autoprint KNIGHT 250CB the two colour offset printing machine and the PTP 50NB, a continuous stationery number and barcode printing machine. With over 4,300 installations throughout the country, Autoprint's emphasis on customer-focused innovation has averaged at least one new model for each year of its existence, totalling over 15 models. Its turnover has soared since its inception eight years ago from Rs 3 crore to Rs 34 crore. The company has a nationwide network of 22 service centres, 53 service locations and 109 service engineers.
