Bajaj unveils premium range of ceiling fans

BAJAJ Electricals' Fan Business Unit has come out with five models of `Magnifique', the super premium range ceiling fans that are fitted with blades made of cured plywood.

The fans carry energy-saving high performance reversible motors and are priced between Rs 5,000 and Rs 7,000.

The fans are imported from Hong Kong and are re-engineered to the Indian condition and customer tastes. Bajaj Electricals hopes to sell 15,000 to 20,000 units of this super premium range in the first year, according to Mr A.S. Radhakrishna, Vice-President and Head, Fans Business Unit, Bajaj Electricals Ltd.

Magnifique models are among the 18 new premium and economy models thatBajaj has introduced for the summer in Tamil Nadu. The new models, which include five in the portable segment as well, has been launched in Madurai and Coimbatore.

Addressing press persons here , Mr Radhakrishna and Senior General Manager/Head Marketing of Fans Business Unit, Mr Siddhartha Kanodia, said ever since Bajaj Electricals went for restructuring of its operations three years ago, the fans business unit has doubled the volume of sales from 750,000 units to over one million units and as of now, his company hopes to close the year 2004-05 with a sale of 1.7 million units.

The Fan Business Unit of Bajaj is expected to achieve Rs 125-crore turnover for the 2004-05 fiscal.
