New Products & Services `Sea-inspired' skincare brand H2O Plus to be launched soon Our Bureau
New Delhi , Feb. 11 THE premium skincare market has begun attracting a host of international brands. After US direct selling major Amway entered this segment with `Attitude' range of products developed specifically for the Indian market last month, it is now the turn of another compatriot to eye this country. The Chicago-based H2O Plus, offering a sea-derived skincare line targeted at the premium end of the market, will be launched next month. Mr Roger H. Marks, President of the International Division of H2O Plus, told Business Line, "The company initially launched this brand in other parts of Asia and we think India would be a very good market for us, specially due to the climatic conditions in India and the uniqueness of our brand concept. Also, there are very few prestige international brands available here and none that is being sold in a speciality retail environment." H2O Plus has tied up with lifestyle products retailer called Sports Station and plans to initially open two boutiques in Delhi initially. Sports Station retails brands including Levis, Dockers, Nike, Aigner (a German luxury brand of apparels and accessories) and is planning to bring other international brands to the country. Said Mr Rishab Soni, Managing Director of Sports Station India, "We will launch H2O Plus on March 16 beginning with two boutiques in Delhi. We plan to open 10 H2O Plus stores across the country in the first three years of operation. The brand will be promoted by various marketing and image strengthening activities in line with international standards.'' He declined to provide any sales target for H2O Plus. Meanwhile, Mr Marks said that each H2O Plus product is formulated with a combination of marine derived extracts, sea minerals, vitamins, enzymes and natural ingredients that work as a moisture transportation system to deliver key nutrients to the skin. He said the company uses more than 60 marine ingredients available globally along with pharmaceutical water.
