Mumbai , Feb. 12

DELTA Air Lines will terminate a week ahead of schedule the seasonal service it is operating between Mumbai and the US via Frankfurt.

The airline commenced the service last November to meet the extra demand during the winter season.

Its regular scheduled flight operates between Mumbai and New York with a stop-over at Paris. Queried on the airline's preparations to launch services from Chennai, he said, the airline was working "fast and furious" towards the launch scheduled for May 11. The airline would operate this service between Mumbai and New York with a stop-over at Paris.

Delta reported a net loss of $2.2 billion, or $16.58 loss per share, in the fourth-quarter ended December 2004.

For the full year 2004, net loss was at $5.2 billion, or $41.07 per share.

It is the second-largest airline in terms of passengers carried and the leading US carrier across the Atlantic, offering daily flights to 496 destinations in 88 countries.
