New Delhi , Feb. 12

AT least 10 Indo-German collaborations and major outsourcing contracts in automobiles, machine tools, information technology, biotechnology and healthcare are likely to be finalised soon. All these deals have come through in the wake of the visit to India of the high-power small and medium enterprises delegation from Germany.

The Mittlestand delegation is currently touring India with 27 representatives of the automotive sector, 14 from the machine tools sector, 13 from information technology and 10 from the biotechnology sector. The delegation interacted with Indian industry leaders at a special session organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry here on Saturday.

Dr Heinrich von Pierer, Chairman, Supervisory Board, Siemens AG and Chairman, Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business, gave a resounding stamp of approval for doing business with India. He said the Siemens experience showed that the business benefits in India far outweigh the risks.
