THE Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) will hold an information dissemination seminar on bilateral trade prospects with America in the city on March 11.
Speaking at a meeting organised by the Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, IACC Chairman Mr T.P.K. Ramakrushna Rajha said that the American market was still a green area for the Indian business community.
The immense opportunities on the export front could be effectively tapped, provided Indian companies learn to focus on trade with transparent transaction.
They also need to be familiar with the legal documentation relating to international trade.
IACC plans to request the American Consulate for early sanctioning of business visas.
The current investment climate is very congenial for bilateral trade in both the countries, he said.
Currently, the US imports $27 billion worth of textiles and garments from overseas and in this, the Indian contribution is about $4 billion.
