Techno-park at Tiruchi

Our Correspondent

MADURAI: The Bharathidasan University at Tiruchi is establishing a techno-park on an area of 22,000 sq ft at its Kajamalai campus to attract information technology majors.

According Vice-chancellor, Dr C. Thangamuthu, the initiative is to arrest the flow of software professionals from the city to metros. The University is churning out 10,000 graduates and post-graduates in computer science and information technology each year. He further said that software majors, including Infosys and Wipro have responded positively to a proposal of tie up. The park, to be equipped with incubation facilities and broadband connectivity would help them establish their base and tap the potential in the region.
