THE State will have a Film and Television Institute on the lines of the one in Pune. Mr K.V. Ramanachary, Managing Director of AP State Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation Ltd, said that the institute would be a reality soon with the joint participation of the Union and State Governments.

He announced this at the valedictory function of a two-day workshop on script writing for children's films here on Sunday.

Mr Rajendraprasad, a veteran film actor, who was the chief guest at the workshop, said the script plays a vital role in the success of a film.

At the inaugural on Saturday, Mr G. Adiseshagiri Rao, the new Chairman of the corporation, asked the participants to stress on the commercial aspect too. "A good film with a commercial value reaches more people," he said.
