IIT Roorkee joins Oracle Initiative

New Delhi , Feb. 16

ORACLE India, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Oracle Corporation, announced today that IIT Roorkee has become the 42nd educational institution in India to join the Oracle Academic Initiative. "With this, Oracle software grants to Indian educational institutions now exceed $40 million," a company release said here.

According to Dr Padam Kumar, professor and head, Institute Computer Centre at IIT Roorkee, "Oracle Academic Initiative will help our students get exposure to industry-relevant technology in the application of relational databases."
