Rubber unchanged on low buying interest

THE domestic spot rubber prices were quoted steady in a comparatively inactive market on Wednesday.

There was not much buying interest at current levels and dealers still preferred to reduce their stocks. RSS 4 closed static at Rs 50.50 a kg at Kottayam and Rs 50.75 at Kochi.

The rubber futures turned better after a positive closing at TOCOM. The March contract was traded at Rs 51.98 (Rs 51.74), April contract at Rs 55.40 (Rs 55.26) and May contract at Rs 57.00 (Rs 56.85) per kg for RSS 4.

The physical rubber prices per kg on Wednesday were: RSS-4: Rs 50.50 (Rs 50.50); RSS-5: Rs 49.25 (Rs 49.25); ungraded: Rs 48.50 (Rs 48.50); ISNR 20: Rs 50 (Rs 50); and latex 60%: Rs 38 (Rs 38 ).
