Rubber prices steady amidst low volumes

AMIDST low volumes and trading interest, spot rubber prices closed steady on Thursday.

According to marketmen, there was ease in selling spree and the covering groups absorbed the scattered sales from certain dealers to fulfil their commitments. Sheet rubber maintained at Rs 50.50 a kg at Kottayam and Rs 50.75 at Kochi consecutively for the third day.

NMCE rubber futures stayed in tune with TOCOM quoting all contracts slightly down on Thursday. The March contract was traded at Rs 51.70 (51.80), April at Rs 55.24 (55.51), May at Rs 56.95 (57.02) and June at Rs 57.85(57.90) per kg for RSS 4.

The physical rubber prices per kg follow: RSS-4: Rs 50.50 (50.50); RSS-5: Rs 49.25 (49.25); ungraded: Rs 48.50 (48.50); ISNR 20: Rs 50 (50); latex 60 per cent: Rs 38 (38).
