SriLankan cuts fares by half for Kerala destinations

Kochi , Feb. 17

SRILANKAN Airlines today introduced promotional fares to various popular destinations from Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode, the three cities from which the airlines operates its services.

The new fares from these cities are nearly 50 per cent lower than earlier rates and will be valid for one month, a press release from airlines has said.

The new fares for Kochi-Colombo-Kochi sector is Rs 4,140, for the Thiruvananthapuram-Colombo-Thiruvananthapuram sector it is Rs 2,930 and for the Kozhikode-Colombo-Kozhikode sector it is Rs 4,400.

The ticketing validity of these fares will remain till February 28 and travel will have to commence before March 31.

Mr Rohan Seneviratene, Manager South India for SriLankan Airlines said: "Kerala is a very significant market for SriLankan Airlines. Moreover we have seen a very steady increase in traffic to Europe and South East Asia from the State. With these competitive fares we aim give the traffic surge, further impetus. These fares likely to help the market to expand."

The promotional fares are also applicable to Europe and South East Asian destinations as well. The return fares for London has dropped to Rs 19,500 and Paris/Zurich to Rs 15,500.

For Singapore/Kuala Lumpur it has dropped to Rs 8,500, for Bangkok to Rs 9,000 and Hong Kong to Rs 12,500, the release said.
