Nabard aid for health projects in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 31.83 crore from its Rural Infrastructure Development Fund for various health schemes in Kerala under the Rural Health Improvement Project.

The project envisages upgrading the infrastructure in health institutions in rural areas, says an official press release. Of the Rs 31.83-crore sanctioned by Nabard, Rs 10.9 crore will be used for various allopathic projects, Rs 1.37 crore for ayurveda projects and Rs 45 lakh for homeopathy initiatives.

Besides, Rs 8.27 crore has been earmarked for the Child Development Centre proposed for Thiruvananthapuram and Rs 10.84 crore for the first phase of the Vaikkom Kari Land Development Project, the release adds.
