Airtel launches `champion' in Kerala

KOCHI: Airtel on Thursday announced the launch of Champion — an all-new customised tariff plan targeted at the youth of Kerala. The post-paid plan entails a low monthly rent, along with reduced cost of SMS and special night call tariffs.

Announcing the new plan, Mr T. Elango, Chief Operating Officer of Bharti Cellular Limited Kerala said, " The plan offers the benefits of low night time call rates and reduced SMS charges, which is in keeping with the usage patterns of the younger generation."

The scheme entails a monthly rent of Rs 175. Between 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., outgoing calls to any phone will be charged at the rate of Rs 1.50 per minute. Outgoing STD calls to any phone will be at the rate of Rs 2.65 per minute.
