Toyota Qualis variant

Visakhapatnam , Feb. 18

A NEW model of Qualis from Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) will soon be on the roads, according to its Deputy Managing Director, Mr K.K. Swamy.

It will be a much more advanced and customer-value driven vehicle. Addressing a press conference here, Mr Swamy said TKM intended to sell 57,000 units of all its vehicles in 2005-06.

He said in the previous year, Toyota had sold 47,000 units out of which 37,000 were Qualis. The Toyota vehicles are leading in the market in their respective segments, he added. Its mid-sized car, Corolla, costing between Rs 9.6 lakh and 12.5 lakh, accounts for 31 per cent of the market share and Camry, the luxury sedan costing upwards of Rs 19 lakh, for 23 per cent.

Earlier Mr Swami inaugurated the 43rd dealership in the country and fourth in the State, Leela Krishna Toyota, at Madhurawada in the morning.

The Vizag Steel Plant CMD, Mr Y. Siva Sagar Rao, inaugurated sales while the IG (Greyhounds), Mr T. Krishna Prasad, inaugurated the service centre.
