Qualcomm for tech neutral spectrum policy

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Feb. 18

US-based Qualcomm on Friday said India should adopt a technology neutral strategy for spectrum allocation.

This is in line with the views expressed by the Communication Minister, Mr Dayanidhi Maran, during the GSM Congress at Cannes, France.

Mr Kanwalinder Singh, President, Qualcomm India and SAARC, said, in addition to the 800-Mhz spectrum allocation, 1,900 Mhz spectrum must be allotted to CDMA operators in India, just like how GSM operators get spectrum in the 900 Mhz and 1,800 Mhz band.
