Art of our neighbours

Paul Noronha

A couple looks at the video art exhibition, Beyond Borders: Art of Pakistan, held at the National Gallery of Modern Art being held in Mumbai from February 17 to March 17. This exhibition is the first major exposition of modern and contemporary art of Pakistan in India. More than 150 works, comprising painting, sculptures, installation and video art, have been assembled here. They represent the richness and diversity of the art executed in the 58 years - since 1947. The exhibits offer a comprehensive view of various trends and trajectories that characterise the art of Pakistan.
