Rubber prices make moderate recovery

THE domestic spot rubber made a moderate recovery on Tuesday. All-round buying from the covering groups and purchase agents initiated the uptrend as major grades gained in the absence of quantum sellers.

The dealers seemed to be waiting for a favourable outcome from Government regarding the VAT issues.

Sheet rubber RSS 4 improved to Rs 51.75 from Rs 50.75 at Kottayam and Kochi. NMCE rubber futures quoted weak on Tuesday.

The March contract was traded at Rs 52.40 (Rs 52.50), April at Rs 55.75 (Rs 56.02), May at Rs 57.40 (Rs 57.61) and June at Rs 58.60 (Rs 58.91) per kg for RSS 4.

The March futures at TOCOM for RSS 3 closed better at 131.7 yenThe spot rubber prices per kg on Tuesday are: RSS-4 Rs 51.75 (Rs 50.75), RSS-5 Rs 50 (Rs 49.50), ungraded Rs 49.50 (Rs 48.75), ISNR 20 Rs 50.50 (Rs 50) and latex 60% Rs 38.50 (Rs 38)
