Bangalore , Feb. 22

ORACLE India plans to capitalise on the Indian financial market's need to comply with Basel II norms.

The enterprise software company with the only Basel II compliance module in the market expects to help existing customers of its financial services application as well as new customers to use technology to comply with the norms.

The company expects to tap a large part of the Indian BFSI sector with the products; 80 per cent of the sector companies already run their business on Oracle.

"Basel II norms need to be implemented not only the market for compliance but for better business practices and to remain competitive," said Mr Shekar Dasgupta, Managing Director, Oracle India.

The company held a seminar on Basel II compliance together with IIIT-B today.
