CII meet on organisational restructuring on Friday

Our Bureau

Kochi , Feb. 23

IN the background of several management thinkers stressing the need for radical new approaches to the new corporate entity, the CII Kerala is organising a conference on `Charting Organisational Restructuring', which is aimed at fast responsiveness to change in the business milieu, here on Friday.

In this emerging paradigm, the bottom line cedes its pre-eminence to the top: the corporation concentrates on developing new revenue streams from new products and services, while optimising income from existing lines through innovative marketing and rapid exploitation of changing customer needs and tastes. The new kind of corporation is, above all, agile, a press release said.

The evidence of this new management style is growing by the day. Companies are reshaping everything, from their portfolios to their payment systems, as they seek to develop the speed, focus, collaboration and responsiveness that modern markets demand. Change management, in fact, is becoming synonymous with management itself.

The Conference will focus on Analyzing Life Cycle of an Organisation; In Perspective- Performance Management, Understanding in Tandem - Change and Strategic Management, and following Off the Beaten Track for Corporate Turnaround.

Prominent speakers at the meet include Mr Bhaskar Ghose, Managing Director, IndusInd Bank, Mumbai, Mr Pothen Paul, MD, Kvaerner Powergas India Pvt Ltd, Mumbai, Mr. K.V. Ramarathnam, CEO, Mahindra Ugine Steel Company, Mumbai, and Mr George Zacharias, President & CEO, Sify Ltd, Chennai.
