IT in Agriculture course

HYDERABAD: Use of information technology (IT) tools for better planning and improving decision making in agriculture by policy makers and scientists was highlighted at a three-week refresher course on IT in Agriculture, organised here by the National Academy of Agriculture Research Management (NAARM).

The Acting Director, NAARM, Mr R.K. Samantha, said different IT tools have been making an impact in the various facets of agriculture such as education, research and extension. He was delivering the valedictory address on Wednesday.

Database management systems, e-commerce, bio-informatics, use of Geographical Information Systems etc., were discussed along with the basics of Internet and networking technologies.
