Kerala: Nabard staff stage sit-in

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Officers and employees of the Kerala Regional Office of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) staged a sit-in in front of the bank as part of their agitation demanding retention of the status of developmental finance institution for Nabard.

The demonstrators also demanded protection of parity in pay and service conditions with those prevailing in the Reserve Bank of India. The nationwide agitation programmes was launched in June last year.

Among those who addressed the sit-in are Mr G. Madhusoodhanan Nair, District General Secretary, Confederation of Central Employees' Association; Mr V. Raveendran, President, Reserve Bank Staff Officers' Association; and Mr N. Balakrishnan, President, Nabard Officers Association.
