Bangalore , Feb. 25

PEPSI'S lemon-lime brand 7UP has kicked off its new campaign for 2005, co-starring brand mascot Fido Dido with Bollywood star Yana Gupta.

Ms Punita Lal, Executive Director (Marketing), Pepsi Foods Pvt Ltd, said director Farah Khan has produced the new 30-second TV ad.

This campaign kicks off the launch of the all-new Fido for the first time in an Indian setting. Fido Dido first appeared in New York City as a doodle on a napkin back in 1985. He was created by Joanna Ferrone and artist Sue Rose, who strove to find a strong creative vehicle for their shared philosophies.

The Fido character, a black & white icon, is a laid-back lad, with unconventional wit and wisdom. In the TV advertisement, created by J. Walter Thomson, Fido is seen matching his wits in a Bollywood style quawwali muquabla with popular model Yana Gupta.

The campaign has been launched in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu .
