Awards & Honours CII excellence awards Our Bureau
CHENNAI: ASHOK Leyland Ltd, Unit II, Hosur, TTK LIG Ltd and Visakhapatnam Steel Plant have won the CII, Southern Region, Leadership and Excellence Award in Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) 2004 in the manufacturing category. The Hotel Taj Residency, Bangalore, won in the service category. The awards were presented at the valedictory session on the final day of the `SHE' Award competition held here. Ramky Group, Hyderabad, bagged the Special Commendation award and Ultra Tech Cement Ltd, Andhra Pradesh, received the Innovation award for best innovative practices, according to a CII press release. The award is in recognition for industries towards extraordinary contribution in the areas of best environment and safety management practices, conserving critical environmental resources, contribution to sustainable development and efficient handling of occupational health and hygiene issues, the release said.
