Karnataka Housing Board unveils 100 projects

THE Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) has launched 100 housing projects in the State, according to Mr Laxminarayan, KHB Housing Commissioner. Of these projects, 53 are in the final stage of completion.

Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, he said 13,500 new houses and 15,000 sites are being developed under these projects.

These projects are self-contained and eco-friendly.

Eight new layouts in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts will come under these 100 projects, he said.

Till now, KHB has formed around 1,000 layouts and constructed many multi-storey building in various parts of Karnataka, providing shelter to 1.10 lakh families.

Mr Laxminarayan said KHB has also constructed district administration complexes in new districts such as Chamarajanagar, Haveri, Bagalkot and Koppal.

It will begin construction of the administration complex in Gadag district soon. Land has been identified for such a complex in Udupi district, he said.

Stating that KHB is also taking up construction activities on a joint-venture basis, he said it has entered into such initiatives with Vaidehi Developers in Hoskote and Subrahmanya Developers in Mysore.

The board has invited expression of interest for joint venture construction activities in Shimoga and Hassan districts, and at Kotekar in Mangalore, he added.
