Chennai terminal operations

Our Bureau

CHENNAI: Chennai Container Terminal Ltd (CCTL) says that by deploying operators from other P&O Terminals, the terminal is working at normal levels of container handling. On February 25, the quay crane (QC) had made around 1,700 moves a day, which means that 2,200 TEUs (20-foot equivalent units) have been loaded and discharged to/from vessels.

Similarly, import boxes delivery from CCTL and export boxes receivable is taking place smoothly. Yard inventory of containers is at comfortable levels and under control.

In view of the above, CCTL has appealed to the Chennai feeder operators to withdraw the congestion surcharge in view of the normal operations at the terminal, according to a CCTL release.
