Hyderabad , March 1

ANDHRA Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Ltd (APGenco) has won the operation and maintenance contract (O&M) for the 1200-megawatt (MW) Teesta Stage III Hydro Electric Power Project in Sikkim.

APGenco, in association with Athena Power Projects Pvt Ltd (a consortia consisting of Athena Power Projects, PTC, Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services and ICICI Securities), has bagged the rights for project development with the Government of Sikkim as a 26 per cent equity partner.

APGenco will be the sole O&M contractor for 35 years from the date of commercial operations of the project. It will also participate in equity in the project, once the techno-economic feasibility is known as per terms of the APGenco Board, said Mr Ajay Jain, its Managing Director.

APGenco has also received offers for O&M and equity participation for Rolep (36 MW), Ralong (48 MW) and Chakung Chu (63 MW) projects in Sikkim. It has also some gas-based projects in South India under examination.
